Widnes Tennis Academy "Lane" has 13 adult tennis teams competing in the Warrington & District Tennis League in 2010. We have 6 Men's teams, 3 Women's teams and 4 Mixed teams.

2010 Gent's Season

The Gent's teams at Lane have had another succesful season, in the Warrington & District Leagues, with an increase in the number of players seeing the club field a 6th team for the first time in their history.

Gent's 1st Team

Division 1      Position - 3rd/10

Played 18 Won 15 Drew 0 Lost 3 Points 30 

The Gent's 1st team were unlucky to miss out on the 1st division title for a 2nd succesive season as they finished 2 points behind both Lymm and Stockton Heath. Despite losing just 3 matches all year, 2 close losses to Lymm proved crucial and Lane 1 finished 3rd.

Gent's 2nd Team

Division 2       Position - 8th/10

Played 18 Won 5 Drew 1 Lost 12 Points 11

The 2nd team had a tough a time in 2010 but won vital matches against the teams around them to make sure that they remained in Division 2 and will hope for a better campaign next time around.

Gent's 3rd Team

Division 3       Position - 5th/10

Played 18 Won 9 Drew 0 Lost 9 Points 18

After been promoted from the 4th Division the previous year, Lane 3 had a succesful season consolidating thier place in Division 3. A great start saw the 3rds win 8 of thier first 10 matches and right in the running for promotion but unavailability led to that possibility slipping away and the team finishing 5th.      

Gent's 4th Team

Division 5       Position 4th/9

Played 16 Won 8 Drew 2 Lost 6 Points 18

Like the 3rd team the 4th's gained promotion in 2009 and backed that up with a good campaign this time around in Division 5 finishing in 4th place.

Gents 5th Team

Division 7       Position 1st/8

Played 14 Won 12 Drew 0 Lost 2 Points 24

Lane 5 had a great season winning the Division 7 title, losing only 2 games in the process. This was a great achievement, even better when you consider that the team was only formed last season. The 5th team will now go up to Division 6 for the 2011 season as champions.

Gent's 6th Team

Division 7       Position 5th/8

Played 13 Won 4 Drew 0 Lost 9 Points 8

Lane 6 performed well in their inaugrial season in the leagues having a team for every match and finishing in 5th place in Division 7.

2010 Ladies Season

Ladies 1st Team

Division 1       Position 6th/8

Played 14 Won 4 Drew 0 Lost 10 Points 8

The Ladies 1st team had a mixed season struggling early on due to injuries and availability but won 3 of their last 4 matches to avoid relegation and remain in division 1.

Ladies 2nd Team 

Division 4       Position 1st/7

Played 12 Won 9 Drew 2 Lost 1 Points 20

Lane 2 had a fantastic season winning the 4th division, losing only 1 game in the process. It was great reward for the team after they narrowly missed out on promotion last year.

Ladies 3rd Team

Division 7       Position 4th/7

After struggling to field a team for the majority of the last year, the ladies 3rd team had a very good season fulfilling all of thier matches and finishing 4th in division 7.
